The Director of Research and Strategy of the John Nwosu Campaign Organization, Hon. Richard Okechukwu, has assured that the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief John Nwosu, will introduce positive change in Anambra State if elected in the November 8 governorship election.
Speaking on Sunday, Okechukwu expressed confidence in Nwosu’s chances, citing what he described as a combination of broad support, personal pedigree, and well-outlined policy programmes that give the ADC candidate an edge in the contest.
He said the ADC has established its presence across the 21 local government areas and 326 electoral wards in Anambra State, stressing that the party’s influence continues to grow not only within the State but nationally.
He further noted that Anambra, the home state of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has also witnessed increased grassroots acceptance of the ADC, especially with Obi’s recent alignment with the party ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“ADC is now counted among the major political parties in Nigeria. It has excellent programmes for the overall good of Ndi Anambra. Chief John Nwosu is coming to rescue the State from the quagmire and maladministration being experienced under the current leadership. Our strategies are already in place, and we are confident of victory,” Okechukwu said.
He explained that Nwosu had mapped out a seven-point agenda that highlights priority areas, including security, health, environment, economy, markets, and social welfare.
According to him, the ADC candidate intends to tackle security challenges in the State through technology-driven approaches.
“As an Information and Communication Technology expert, he has consistently said that security goes beyond recruiting able-bodied men and giving them guns. He believes modern technology provides more effective solutions, and he has articulated practical methods to address insecurity in Anambra,” Okechukwu added.
He, however, noted that details of such strategies could not be disclosed publicly for security reasons.
On the issue of negative campaigning, Okechukwu maintained that Chief Nwosu is a decent and polished politician who will not engage in smear tactics.
Political analysts observe that several factors appear to strengthen Nwosu’s candidacy. Among them is Coalition support. He has been adopted as the consensus candidate of the Anambra Coalition Stakeholders Forum, which draws membership from the ADC and other political groups.
Nwosu has been endorsed by many. He has received the backing of some influential political figures. The ADC candidate has a professional background that gives him an edge over others.
With more than 30 years’ experience as an ICT expert, economist, and businessman, Nwosu is regarded as bringing a distinct skillset to governance.
With a clear vision, Chief Nwosu raised a seven-point plan laying emphasis on human capital development, education, and enterprise in addition to security and welfare.
His integrity and pedigree are not questionable. He has consistently highlighted transparency and accountability as core values in leadership.
His readiness for leadership is expressed by his prudent management of resources. His campaign team has expressed confidence in his financial capability to run and sustain effective mobilization efforts.
Okechukwu insisted that with these advantages, the ADC campaign is optimistic of emerging victorious in the November 8 governorship election. He disclosed that the party is prepared to change the governance narrative in Anambra State.
“My views about governance are that it isn’t really rocket science, you don’t have to be in office for more than four years to make an impact, even if you stay more years in office, you can never do everything, a passionate and purposeful leader can still make an impact, so called 4+4 isn’t mandatory, “Hon Okechukwu concluded.
