Take advantage of ongoing voters’ registration exercise -Niger Gov’t urges eligible adults

By: TUNDE BOLAJI MINNA.

The Niger State has been calling upon Eligible voters in the state to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration in the country to register as voters, which will enable them to participate in the 2027 general elections.

Special Adviser, Political and Strategy to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, Alhaji Nma Kolo, made a call in a statement made available to newsmen in Minna.

The statement said it is not enough to be members of political parties, adding that the membership should be translated into voting on Election Day, which would only be possible when they register as voters.

The Special Adviser on Political and Strategy reminded all adults in the State aged 18 who did not register during the last exercise to do so and collect their voter’s card.

Alhaji. Nma Kolo reminded Nigerlites that non-possession of a voters’ card will make it impossible for them to vote for their candidates of choice during the next general election.

He therefore charged those who have turned 18 after the last exercise and those who did not register at all to take advantage of the present exercise so that they will be able to exercise their voting rights in 2027.

The statement further admonished those who recently relocated to the state to visit the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC offices in their respective local government areas of residence for the facilitation of the transfer of their voters’ cards.

He charged members of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, to mobilize their members for participation in the voters registration exercise.

The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Ahmed Yushau Garki had recently urged eligible voters to register, advising that any problem encountered should be reported to the nearest INEC office for remedy.
