Nnewi North: Mayor speaks on 11 months of transformative leadership

In just eleven months as the Executive Chairman of the Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mayor Echezona Anazodo has recorded tremendous achievements.
He has proven in all ramifications to be a beacon of hope and pride of the people of Nnewi.
Mayor, While addressing journalists on Monday, September 22 at Choice FM Nnewi revealed the secret behind his successful story as focus and his well dedicated team that are working tirelessly to transform Nnewi community.
Transforming Nnewi in just 11 months, Mayor Echezona Anazodo said it was made possible because of their cordial relationship with the State government, adding that the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo has done so much for the people of Anambra State especially Nnewi and he is ready to do more because of his love for them.
He charged Ndi Nnewi not to relent in November 8,gubernatorial election in Anambra State to vote the Governor for a second tenure,revealing that the Governor is planning to urbanize Nnewi by building a Modern Park in Nnewi just like in Ekwulobia.
“Governor Soludo’s administration has Favored us greatly. He constructed so many major roads in Nnewi like Nkwo to Nkwo road, road leading to Nnewi Hotel,Igwe Orizu road, Agulu to Okija road and also has awarded Adili road as a fulfillment of the promise he made during one of the rallies in Nnewi before the Senatorial by-election” he said.
He urged the people of Nnewi not to be distracted but continue to focus on the good work the Governor has started in Nnewi.
Mayor outlined what his administration has achieved within a space of 11 months as: Construction of Ukwaka Umudim Nnewi River, which according to him was a landmark project and construction of Ezeogidi road.
He said his administration dealt with security challenges in the community, introduced Skill Acquisition and empowerment programs, constructed drainage systems in Odida Nnewichi Nnewi and F/line Nkwo Nnewi Market, ran operation zero potholes to make the community accessible and boom economic activities.
He further revealed that they built Sir Odumegwu Ojukwu plaza with over 139 shops, reconstructed markets without collecting a penny from traders, acquired a brand new vehicle for waste management.
Furthermore Mayor said they distributed seedlings and fertilizers to farmers and also empowered them financially, built a modern toilet in Nkwo Nnewi Market and built over 50 modern shops in Odu Igbo Nkwo Nnewi and many more.
He disclosed that 1st of October would mark his one year in office, and he would be commissioning a New Modern Legislative Building at the secretariat.
He ended by urging Ndi Nnewi to exercise patience that all their needs would be attended to after the raining season under his watch.
