Kebbi @34: Organisation, Kebbi Gov’t organise prayers for peace, progress

The Khadimul-Islam Organisation in collaboration with the Kebbi State Ministry for Religious Affairs has organised special prayers to commemorate the celebration of the creation of the state tagged Kebbi @34.

In his welcome address, the Chairman Organising Committee, Abubakar Mohamed ABK describe the movement as a way of promoting unity and progress in the state.

He added that the aim of the event was to pray for the state and Nigeria over the security challenges bedeviling some part of the state and the nation at large.

“We decided to involve Ulamas as the state is completing 34th years of creation, we need to continue praying for Kebbi State, Nigeria as well as our leaders” he said.

He also commended the efforts of the present administration in the state under the able leadership of Dr Nasir Idris for executing developmental projects and supporting the people of state.

Mohammed ABK also lauded the governor for restoring peace in Kebbi South and some areas in Northern part of the state, where hitherto, experienced cases of insecurity.

Also speaking, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Arc Aliyu Sani thanked the Kebbi State Governor for supporting the ministry in all ramifications.

“You have fulfil all your campaign promises, you promised to establish the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which you did among other things,” he said.

Responding, the Kebbi State Governor Comrade Dr Nasir Idris appreciated the organisers of the programme, saying the best way to celebrate was for people to continue to pray for peace and development of the state.

“I knew I have done a lot within this short time, the past leaders have done their own part for the good of the state, while, I will also do my best to ensure that I leave a good legacy behind,” he said.

He added that I have constructed and renovated more schools and healthcare centers, supplied free fertilisers and foodstuff as well as procurement and distribution of security vehicles to security personnel among others.

During the prayer session, the Ulama recited the Holy Qur’an and follow it up with series of supplications for restoration of peace in the state and across Nigeria.
