The Zamfara state Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines And Agriculture has debunked baseless and destructive rumors’ going on in some social media handles, spread by other enemies of the state that Governor Lawal has declined his plan to issue the proposed promised loan to the members of the chamber.
This was stated today by the President, Zamfara Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines And Agriculture ZACCIMA, Alhaji Dr. Hassan Buhari while addressing journalists at NUJ chapel office in Gusau the state capital.
In his speech Dr. Buhari said, We are here in NUJ to debunk the rumours going on concerning the loan that His Excellency promised to give to all the members of Zamfara state Chamber of Commerce, stating that his refusal to release the loan is untrue.
As at last year 2024 we were privileged to have a session with His Excellency Dr. Dauda Lawal, we presented several requests and part of them was how he could assist members of Zamfara state Chamber of Commerce in order to carry out our businesses as it were in the past.
We requested that His Excellency, Governor Lawal being a businessman should consider helping the members with soft loan in order to help ease businesses in the state
While at the meeting with him, he expressed joy over the initiative advising us to put together all our needs and bring for him to see the possible measures the state the Government could take in order to be of assistance to the chamber.
We proposed a loan of 20 Billion for our members, His Excellency assented to it and till now he has never withdrawn his interest to assist the members of the chamber.
By the directives of His Excellency Dr. Dauda Lawal all our eligible members were asked to apply for the loan, everyone did and no one was left behind.
The completed list was submitted to the kind-hearted Governor on December 2024 who also pledged to be personally involved in the loan distribution process in order to ensure that all members benefit from the loan.
The loan was segmented into diverse business areas such as large scale, small and medium scale enterprises , Micro enterprises, right now, we are asked to add small and medium enterprises and micro scale which the chamber have already compiled the list and ready to be submitted to the office of His Excellency Dr Dauda Lawal.
The president stated that in all their meetings with the Governor, he has never said that he will not give the loan to eligible members of the chamber, instead he is trying to ensure that everyone is include in the scheme.
The president urged members of Zamfara state chamber of commerce and general public to disregard the baseless rumours that Governor Lawal has declined in his promise to release the loan to members of the chamber describing it as an attempt by the enemies of the state to tarnish the image and the integrity of Governor Dauda Lawal in giving the best to the people of Zamfara state.
The President was accompanied by his Vice, Alhaji Abubakar Kabiru and other stakeholders.
