Kogi bye- election was both marred with low turn out of voters and irregularities and peaceful conduct according to the information made available by the independent Electoral Commission – INEC in his official handle, On Sunday.
According to The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kogi State, Oliver Agungu, the commission has decried the low turn of voters in Saturday’s bye-election for Okura State Constituency
Agungu who blamed the low turn out on poor sensitization however noted that the election was peaceful.
The Okura State Constituency bye-election which was held across four wards in Dekina Local Government Area of the state saw sensitive materials arriving early in most polling units.
There was high level security within and outside the polling units with the police earlier warning troublemakers to stay off voting centers.
After a tour of some polling units, the independent National Electoral Commission said the exercise was peaceful but with little challenges.
As noted, Some voters commended the entire process with others saying it was marred by irregularities.
