The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that it will carry out preventive maintenance on the 330kV circuit breaker at the Gombe 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
According to the General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the exercise will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is aimed at ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the transmission infrastructure.
During the nine-hour maintenance period, the Gombe 132kV Transmission Substation will receive power through the Jos–Bauchi 132kV transmission line, while Maiduguri and Molai will be supplied from the Maiduguri Emergency Power Plant (MEPP). Damaturu will get supply via the Damagun 33kV feeder from Potiskum.
However, the maintenance work is expected to cause limited power supply at the Gombe Transmission Substation, leading to temporary outages in Yola, Taraba, and surrounding areas.
Mbah apologized for the inconvenience this may cause consumers in the affected areas and assured that normal supply would be restored immediately after the completion of the exercise.
