In a statement issued by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, on Monday, August 11, 2025, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, extended warm congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency Mahamat Saleh Annadif, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chadians Abroad, and International Cooperation of the Republic of Chad, on the occasion of the country’s Independence Anniversary.
As Chad marks this joyous anniversary of sovereignty and progress, Nigeria joins in celebrating the remarkable resilience, unity, and commitment to patriotic leadership that have continued to define the Chadian people. The longstanding bilateral relations between our two brotherly nations, anchored on shared history, cultural affinity, and cooperation, remain a source of pride and a pillar of friendship and solidarity within the Lake Chad Basin, the West African subregion, and across the African continent.
Nigeria, therefore, reaffirms its commitment to deepening collaboration with the Republic of Chad in all areas of mutual interest, particularly in trade, security, education, and regional integration under the frameworks of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union (AU). We commend Chad’s steadfast contributions to peace, stability, and development in the region, especially under the umbrella of the Multinational Joint Task Force, and look forward to the continued strengthening of our bonds for the prosperity of our peoples.
