Dr Idris decried the recurring menace of banditry especially in the Southern local governments of Zuru, Sakaba and Danko-Wasagu.
He said that the bandits were routinely intruding into the state from the neighbouring Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, adding that the state also borders Niger and Benin Republics.
He added that the rampaging bandits had forced some farmers to abandon their farmlands in the worst affected local governments, posing a threat to food security.
