Kebbi Gov’t creates new district, appoints two new district Heads

The Kebbi State Government has announced the creation of Sarandosa District in Maiyama Local Government Area of the state and approved the appointment of two new District Heads.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Hon Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsinmari and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
He said that the new Sarandosa district with the headquarters in Sarandosa which comprised five village heads was carved out of the present Sarkin Kudun Maiyama in Maiyama district.
He said the five village heads areas namely, Gubba village head, Sarandosa village head, Acikaratu Ubandawaki village head, Acikaratun Dodo village head, and Tsalibi village head.
According to him, creation of the district becomes absolutely necessary in view of the rapid expansion of Mahyama Local Government.
Garba-Dutsinmari said that Dr. Faruk Abdullahi Maiyama has been appointed as the new district head of Sarandosa and Sarkin Gabas of Sarandosa.
“Meanwhile Maiyama district with Maiyama as headquarters remained with the name and district head title of Sarkin Kudun Maiyama comprised Dangaladıman Maiyama, Yarıman Maiyama, Giwatazo, Kurya, Rafintofa, Zara Birni and idiga village heads.
“Moreover, Haliru Haruna Maiyama has been appointed as the new district head of Maiyama district with the tittle of Sarkin Kudun Maiyama,” he said.
