Hon. Osho blasts Remo PDP, declares himself fit for NASS comeback

By: Lauretta Fagbohun, Abeokuta.

As political activities heat up ahead of the August 16 by-election for the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, former lawmaker Hon. Solomon Osho has asserted that his wealth of legislative experience makes him the most competent candidate for the position.

Osho, who recently defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made this bold claim during an interactive session with journalists held at the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Abeokuta.

The by-election follows the unfortunate death of Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, who represented the constituency until her passing after a brief illness.

During the session, Osho dismissed the strength of his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the Remo axis, describing it as a “carcass” after many of its members, including himself, moved to the ADC.

He maintained that the coming election would be decided based on the pedigree and capacity of individual candidates, not party labels.

“This election is not about the party it’s about the personality. The people of Remo need someone who understands the legislative terrain, someone who won’t need another six months to learn how to speak on the floor of the House or navigate project facilitation,” he said.

Highlighting his influence across the three local government areas in the constituency, Osho likened the contest to a “David and Goliath” battle, emphasizing the need for a trusted and tested representative.

“Our people deserve a candidate with solid legislative experience. This is not the time for trial and error,” he added confidently.
