Zamfara Assembly solicits suspension of ZAROTA Commandant, harps on financial impropriety

The Zamfara State House of Assembly has recommended the suspension of the State Commandant of the Road Traffic Agency (ZAROTA), Muhammad Bello Musa, over allegations of financial impropriety.
The resolution followed the adoption of a report by the committee chaired by Rilwanu Marafa Anka, which alleged that he mismanaged the agency’s funds amounting to about N11 million.
According to the statement by the Press Secretary of the assembly, Bello Musa Sidi Magami, the committee reached the resolution following a thorough investigation conducted into how the alleged money came into the agency and how it was spent.
The statement added that the sensitivity of the report has called for the temporary suspension of the commandant pending the presentation of the full report.
In a unanimous deliberation, lawmakers who spoke on the matter supported the position of the committee and commended the efforts of the committee for the thorough job done.
After extensive deliberation, the Deputy Speaker announced the resolution of the state assembly and urged the Governor to implement it pending the presentation of the full report of the committee.
