New Generation LiFePO4 batteries unveiled at Abuja housing summit

A Turkish energy technology company, Reserv Power Battery Solutions, has introduced its latest generation of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries to the Nigerian market, presenting them as a safe, durable, and maintenance-free solution to the country’s persistent power challenges.

The launch was announced on the sidelines of the Africa International Housing Summit Show, taking place from July 27 to August 1, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. The company’s innovative energy storage systems aim to bridge Nigeria’s growing demand for stable off-grid electricity solutions.

Speaking exclusively to Standard Times Nigeria, Ildiz Can, a sales representative for Reserv Power, said the LiFePO4 battery systems are designed with the African energy environment in mind.

“These are next-generation batteries with long life, high safety, and no cobalt content,” Can said. “They are reliable, silent, and require no maintenance. You can charge them using solar panels, grid power, or even generators. Once charged, you can use them anywhere, even in remote locations.”

Reserv Power manufactures its batteries using certified lithium iron phosphate and graphite with a metallic backing as the anode. Unlike traditional batteries, LiFePO4 systems do not contain toxic or high-cost elements such as cobalt, making them safer and more sustainable.

The technology, according to the company, is not just limited to residential use. Reserv Power’s batteries are also suitable for industrial vehicles such as forklifts, golf carts, and pallet trucks. Their rugged design is built to withstand tough working environments while delivering consistent energy output.

“In a country where grid power is unreliable, our battery systems offer a practical solution. Many homes already have solar panels, but they are still using outdated batteries. With our LiFePO4 systems, users can enjoy up to 6,000 charge cycles, far more than the 400–500 cycles of traditional lead-acid batteries,” Can added.

Reserv Power currently operates two branches, one focused on interior design and furniture, and the other on energy technologies, and is actively working to strengthen trade ties between Turkey and Nigeria.

“We believe this technology is a game-changer for Africa, especially for people who want a clean, silent, and efficient alternative to noisy diesel generators,” said John, a company shareholder and sales representative.

With Nigeria’s increasing investment in renewable energy and growing demand for home-based power solutions, Reserv Power’s LiFePO4 batteries could provide a much-needed leap toward energy independence for millions of households and businesses across the continent.
