Ogun Assembly applauds Head Of Service Office for workforce training, development initiatives

The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Establishment and Public Service Matters, chaired by Hon. Babatunde Tella, has lauded the Office of the Head of Service for its commitment to human capital development aimed at repositioning the state’s civil service for greater excellence.

Hon. Tella gave the commendation during the appearance of the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya—represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo—alongside other agencies under the Office of the Head of Service, before the lawmakers at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, as part of the ongoing 2025 mid-year budget performance review.

He praised the dedication and professionalism of the state’s workforce, describing it as the best in the country, while urging continued efforts—especially through the training of middle and junior-level staff—to maintain high service standards.

In her remarks, Mrs. Fajounbo reiterated the government’s commitment to continuous staff training and retention. She commended the timely promotion exercises and funding of key training programmes by the state government.

She added that sustained investment in workforce development would further enhance efficiency and service delivery, aligning with the goals of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

Mrs. Fajounbo also outlined the Bureau’s key achievements, including improved collaboration between political appointees and career officers, upholding of public service ethics, effective resolution of staff appeals and petitions, and increased revenue through better management of government quarters.
