The Zamfara state ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Engr. Ahmed Garban Yandi has lauded the remarkable achievements of Dr. Dauda Lawal within the two years of his administration.
The Honourable Commissioner made the commendation during a two day budget performance review organized by the department of planning, research and statistics over the last weekend at Dankani International Hotel, Sokoto state.
The statement Signed by Dr. Yakubu Sanusi the Permanent Secretary of the
Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and issued to journalists today in Gusau confirmed that the ministry salute His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara state, Dr. Dauda Lawal for remarkable achievements recorded within two years.
Speaking, the Commissioner acknowledged that, the presence administration, under the able leadership of His Excellency has set a new standard in the governance, demonstrating a commitment to improving the lives of our people, across the Fourteen (14) Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Zamfara State, through strategic and purposeful leadership.
Honourable Ahmed Yandi noted that, Specifically, the present administration has recorded remarkable achievements in the area of infrastructure/urban renewal, security, health, education, agriculture and food security, poverty alleviation as well as youth and women empowerment, in line with the rescue agenda of Dr. Dauda Lawal.
While sincerely saluting the determination and resilience of His Excellency in setting a new pace in the overall governance of the State, the Honorable Commissioner reminded the Executive Chairmen of the 14 LGCs and other critical stakeholders in the meeting to fully participate in the review exercise, with the aim of processing a budget that translates to the needs and aspirations of the good people of Zamfara State.
He assured them of continued support and cooperation to achieving the desired objectives.
In their separate remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Yakubu Sanusi, ALGON Chairman, Hon. Sama’ila Husaini Moriki, Auditor General for Local Government, Aminu Mammaga, Representatives of the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government Affairs, Yusuf Sabo Tsafe and that of UNICEF, Sokoto Field Office, Isah Ibrahim commended the present administration for initiating sound policies and programmes, which are indeed, yielding significant results. Consequently, socio-economic indicators suggest that the State is on a trajectory of achieving peace and sustainable development.
The meeting was attended by the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Permanent Secretary, and all the Directors of the Ministry. Others are ALGON Chairman and other Local Government Chairmen, Auditor General for Local Government, as well as Representatives of the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government Affairs, and that of UNICEF, Sokoto Field Office.
