Kebbi: Thousands of youths, women express support for Gov Idris, declare new ADC deceptive

Thousands of youths, women, and elders have converged on the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, to express their unwavering support for Gov. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), describing the new ADC movement as deceptive.
Chanting solidarity slogans of “Sai Kaura! Sai Kaura!”, the mammoth crowd carried placards bearing messages such as “Sabuwar Tafiya Yaudara ce” (The new movement is deceptive), reaffirming their loyalty to the Governor and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event, in Government House, Birnin Kebbi this Saturday, was witnessed by Sen. Muhammad Adamu Aliero, Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly,Rt.-Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, State Chairman of APC, Abubakar Kana Zuru, members of the National and State Assemblies, and top government officials, among others.
The Chairman of APC Nasarawa One, Nasiru Aliyu, told the Governor that despite being approached by a former Minister of Justice to defect to ADC, he and his executive members remained committed to the APC and to Governor Idris.
“Nasarawa One is your constituency. All our stakeholders are fully behind you,” he declared.
Also speaking, the Chief of Staff to the Governor an elder and patron of the Fada Junju Association, Barrister Attahiru Maccido, assured the Governor of total support, saying:
“All the 64 polling units in Nasarawa One will vote massively for you in 2027. No retreat, no surrender.”
Other community elders and patrons of the association, including Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruq Muslim, Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Abubakar Shamaki, and Alhaji Abubakar Dangaladima (Tukuran Gwandu), reiterated that the ADC movement has no support base in Nasarawa One or anywhere in Kebbi State.
In their separate remarks, Shamaki and Tukura, praised the Governor’s honesty, compassion, and leadership style, which they said earned him the trust of the people in the State
“We will not betray Kauran Gwandu. Those trying to mislead or blackmail you are your enemies, not friends,” Shamaki stated.
In his response, Gov. Nasir Idris thanked the people of Nasarawa One for their loyalty and described the area as dear to his heart.
“I am a listening Governor and will always act in your best interest. My administration is about collective efforts, not government alone,” he said.
Gov. Idris emphasized that he is not disturbed by the new ADC movement, as his administration’s achievements speak for themselves.
“We came in with a clear agenda of development and empowerment, and we are working on launching one of the best empowerment programs in Nigeria to improve livelihoods across the state,” he added.
The Governor assured that more initiatives are underway in partnership with relevant stakeholders to empower and uplift the people of Kebbi State.
