FCT: Tinubu commissions 15km Road in Kwali, pledges continued dev’t

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned a newly constructed 15km access road connecting the Abuja/Lokoja Expressway to the Pai community in Kwali Area Council. The President emphasized the strategic importance of the road, highlighting its potential to unlock opportunities for farmers and livestock owners, and improve the lives of rural residents.
According to a press statement from Rabi Umar Musa, the Assistant Director Press Office of the Minister on Monday, during the commissioning ceremony, President Tinubu stated, “Looking at what we saw on our way here, we saw opportunity, prosperity for establishment of ranches and reasons to uplift the life of our rural people to realize their full potential.” He assured the community of his administration’s commitment to opening up rural areas for even development.
The President commended FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for addressing the needs of the people, referring to him as “Mr. Project”. Barrister Wike provided an overview of the FCT’s infrastructure strides under the current administration, revealing that over 150km of roads have been completed or are under construction across satellite towns and Area Councils.
Some of the completed road projects include: 9km Paikon Kore/Ibwa Road in Gwagwalada, 5km Gaba/Tokulo road with a two-span river bridge in Bwari Area Council, 5km asphalt carriageway from Garage Junction to LEA Secretariat in Kuje Area Council, 11km Yangoji/Sukuku/Ebbo road in Kwali Area Council, 5km access road from Saburi I and II communities in AMAC, and 15km A2 to Pai road*, recently commissioned
Minister Wike therefore announced upcoming commissioning events for 2025, including the 10km Aguma Palace/New Market Road in Gwagwalada and the reconstructed 18km Nyanya/Karshi dual carriageway.
