INEC Boss, Kunle Ajayi donates moot parliament house to EKSU

A Political Scientist and INEC National Commissioner, South/West Nigeria, Professor Kunle Ajayi has constructed and donated a befitting Parliament House to the Department of Political Science of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.
Professor Kunle Ajayi, an alumnus and a lecturer in the Department of Political Science of the university is currently serving as a National Commissioner(South/West), at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abuja.
While delivering his address at the ceremony organized for the official handing over of the project to the University, Professor Kunle Ajayi appreciated the Vice Chancellor and authorities of the university, for allowing his proposal for the execution of the project to become a reality. The INEC boss described the Vice Chancellor as a visionary leader and a lover of progress. He stated further that, sponsoring such a project which would serve as a learning laboratory for Political Science students in the Faculty, was a modest way of giving back and saying thank you to the University that made him.
According to the Professor of Political Science, “it is my strong desire to make functional and practical knowledge available to Political Science students. The Moot Parliament is expected to transform the teaching of the component courses of democracy and governance from solely classroom theorizing to something functionally practical”.
He emphasized further that the Moot Parliament would serve as an appropriate venue for Parliamentary debate for the legislative arm of the National Association of Political Science Students, EKSU chapter, and also assist the department in satisfying the NUC requirements for programme accreditation in future.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Babatola Ayodele thanked the donor, on behalf of the University Governing Council and assured him that the school authority would make the best use of the facility.
Professor Ayodele used the occasion to solicit more interventions from relevant stakeholders with a view to emulating the exemplary generosity of Professor Kunle Ajayi. He, however, charged the members of staff from the Faculty under the leadership of the Dean, Professor Olu Olu Olufayo to ensure proper and regular maintenance of the facility. The Vice Chancellor, thereafter, led the Principal Officers of the University, Deans, Professors, Directors and other members of staff who attended the event, in the inspection facilities in the building.
