After a review of the mid-term performance of Governor Alex Otti in the governance of Abia state, the Abia National Assembly Caucus, led by a ranking Senator Enyinnaya Abribe, has no choice but to move a motion supported by others present that the Governor has to continue in office beyond 2027.

Senator Abribe moved the motion on Thursday as Abia state marks two years under the administration of Governor Otti at the township stadium Umuahia.

They said that having reviewed his performance; we believe to state, “Come 2027, there will not be any vacancy at Abia state government House.”

In the same manner, members of the Abia state House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa equally passed a vote of confidence on Governor Alex Otti and his administration and equally supported him to continue his good works beyond 2027.

In his remarks, Governor Alex Otti said that he will commit the remaining two years of his first term in office to institutionalizing the reforms that have been initiated by his administration.

“We shall commit the remaining two years of this term to institutionalizing the reforms that have been initiated”

“Collectively, we shall make Abia the hub of transformational ideas. We shall not be tired of listening to undebated new ideas, for that is the path to continuous growth and progress,” Gov. Otti stated.

Gov.Otti used the occasion to present the two-year report card of his administration and thanked Abians for the support given to his administration so far and called on them not to relent in their support

He said that he is in governance to bequeath good governance to the people and equally prudently manage public money for the good of the people.

“Once people get used to governance, they will not like to go back to Egypt again and call on Abians to remain vigilant and not allow any person or group to impose bad governance on them again, “Gov.Otti advised.

“Thank God, because of how we’ve managed the finances, we’ve been able to pay down loans and also pay all our contractors.

“We are not owing anyone. And of course, salary arrears and pension arrears, we had to defray. And sometimes, you also find that, it makes economic sense to pay, rather than keep the money in the bank.

“We are, however, required to be open to honest assessment and constructive engagement with those watching keenly from the side.

The second anniversary celebration was attended by notable Abians, captains of Industries, government appointees among others.
