So-safe caught man on high tension pole, retrieve vandalized property

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, (So-Safe) Corps, have arrested Samuel Aina Timothy, a 28 years old man, an indigene of Igbesa, area of Ogun state over the act of vandalization of high-tension metallic poles for power installations in the area.
In a press statement issued by the Corps Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps, Moruf Yusuf.
Commander Ganzallo said that “at about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 20th May 2025, a team of operatives attached to the Directorate of Liaison of the Corps, while on routine patrol at Isaku Community, Area 1, OPIC Estate, received information from a concerned resident regarding suspicious activities at a power installation within the community.
In a response to the information given by the intel, the officers in the area proceeded directly to the location to assess the validity, the patrol team on arrival caught a man on a high-tension power line pole removing metallic components from the power line.
The Commander revealed that during the search, the suspect was found in possession of 58 pieces of steel materials suspected to have been removed from the power line, a wheel spanner, and a sack believed to have originally contained rice.
Ganzallo added that the suspect and the recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Agbara Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commander Ganzallo reiterated that the Corps will not relent in its efforts to reduce crime to the barest minimum in Ogun State. “Operatives of the Corps are strategically positioned to tackle insecurity, and this burden has been significantly reduced due to the cooperation the agency receives from members of various communities,” he said.
