In a colorful and carnival-like atmosphere, political heavyweights under the aegis of the Abejide Political Dynasty convened a massive endorsement rally in honor of His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), solidifying the unwavering support of the Ekamefa region for his re-election bid in 2026.
The well-attended event, held in the heart of Ekamefa and the country home of its Grand Patron, Hon. S.A. Abejide, witnessed a large turnout of enthusiastic supporters, political stakeholders, community leaders, and party faithful from all six communities of the Ekamefa axis and beyond.
The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, was ably represented by the Director-General of the Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs. Mary Oso Omotoso, who delivered the Governor’s goodwill message. In her remarks, she highlighted the people-oriented policies, infrastructural development, and inclusive governance that have defined Governor Oyebanji’s administration. She noted that these achievements are proof of a governor who is deeply committed to giving the people of Ekiti a better life.
Other notable dignitaries in attendance include a representative of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Tinuola Johnson; the S.A. to the Speaker on Political Matters; the Commissioner for Youth, represented by Prince Adedayo, Former Speaker, EKHA Rt. Hon Dele Olugbemi, Chairmen of Boards, agencies, and parastatals, and several prominent party leaders and political appointees across the state and local government areas.
In his stirring welcome address, the Ekamefa Central Coordinator, Comr. Afeez Adeyemo emphasized that the Abejide Political Dynasty was founded to protect and preserve the values, virtues, and untapped potentials of the Ekamefa people. He further stated that the region, known for consistently delivering block votes for the Progressive Party during elections, deserves more recognition and developmental attention.
The motion for the official endorsement of Governor BAO for a second term was moved by Hon. Josiah Olukosi, Technical Advisor to the Governor on Policy Evaluation, and was seconded by Hon. Kehinde Ajayi, SSA, to the Governor on Agricultural Processing Zones.
The Grand Patron of the Abejide Political Dynasty and Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Hon. S.A. Abejide, expressed deep appreciation for the turnout and support demonstrated at the event. He described the rally as a clear reflection of the Governor’s exemplary leadership and the humility he continues to show in service. Hon. Abejide confidently declared that the people of Ekamefa are fully aligned with the re-election of Governor Oyebanji in 2026.
In his vote of thanks, the host Chairman and Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area, Amb. Prince Michael Ogungbemi extended heartfelt gratitude to Mr Governor for supporting grassroots development, appreciated all attendees, and assured the gathering of Ajoni LCDA’s unflinching commitment to the BAO 2026 project. He described the endorsement as a true grassroots reflection of love and loyalty to the Governor and assured the party that Ekamefa’s massive votes shall be delivered one hundred percent in the 2026 Governorship election.
The event closed on a note of jubilation, with cultural displays, chants of solidarity, and renewed enthusiasm among attendees, all signaling a strong political will toward securing another term for Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
