The training, which is for Directors of Local Government, is themed: “Strategic Administration and Management of Personnel for Sustainable Development at Local Government Level”.

Ashiru-Garba said the training was aimed at providing the participants with both theoretical and practical knowledge on modern administrative and management techniques, with emphasis on effective planning and coordination of various units in the departments of the local government system.

“This is to facilitate greater productivity and achievement of the overall objectives at your respective departments with efficiency in resource utilization and effectiveness in service delivery and sustainability.

“The commission found it imperative to complement the efforts of Kebbi State Government in organizing this training workshop for Directors of Local Government on the role of strategic administration and management of personnel for sustainable development down to the grassroots levels.

“This, when achieved, will certainly create a better and enabling environment where each of the public servants will contribute towards achieving service delivery for the betterment of our people,” he said.

According to the chairman, this will also ensure that government policies and programs are translated down to the masses in line with the vision and mission of His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu’s cardinal objectives of running a people-oriented government.

He warned that considering the huge resources being expended by the commission to ensure the sustainability of professionalized manpower in the local government service, in training and retraining of personnel, the commission would no longer condone any act of absenteeism.

To ensure the attainment of desired goals, the chairman assured that the commission would follow up with periodic monitoring and supervision to ensure that the knowledge acquired was translated into their various schedules of duty.

Ashiru-Garba then appreciated His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for giving them the mandate to carry out their responsibilities without interference.
