FCT Minister invites President Tinubu to commission infrastructure projects

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has announced plans to invite President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commission completed infrastructure projects in the FCT Area Councils.

This move coincides with the President’s second anniversary in office. Wike made this disclosure during a routine inspection of ongoing projects in Gwagwalada, Kwali, and Bwari Area Councils on April 5, 2025, according to a press statement from the Director Press, Office of the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye over the weekend.

The FCT Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work observed at various project sites and some of the projects include:
10km Agoma Palace/Market/Park roads: Internal roads in Gwagwalada Area Council and; 15km A2 to Pai road: Connecting key areas in the FCT

President Tinubu has prioritized the development of satellite towns to decongest the Abuja city center. The FCT Minister highlighted the President’s commitment to this initiative, stating that over ₦300 billion has been spent on FCT Area Councils in 17 months. This investment aims to reduce travel time for residents commuting to the city and improve overall infrastructure.

Wike emphasized that President Tinubu’s visit to the FCT Area Councils will strengthen ties with the people at the grassroots level. This visit will provide an opportunity for residents to interact with their President and see firsthand the progress made in developing their communities.
