At a book Launch of Elders, the Younger People coming up, on Saturday, 29th March 2025, at the Nicon Luxury, in Abuja, Nigeria former president, Goodluck Jonathan said: “Leadership will amount to failure if there is no succession,

The Book Launch Chairman, Senator Ajayi Boroffice also corroborates this view while reviewing the book, in his book review Senator Boroffice came to a conclusion having seen the connections between the two books Elders, The Younger People are Coming, and Spiritual Leadership, according to him there are
There is a crisis of leadership everywhere, in homes, churches, communities, and political parties, and the crisis of leadership in governance.

Senator Ajayi, describes the timely launch of the book, “if people will create time to read it, noting that in the transition from a lower larger to the higher level of leadership in a transition society we have age groups, and the age groups are groom gradually until they get to the top”, Senator Boroffice states.

There is no difference between the Elderly and the Younger ones because there is a dilution of culture globally, there is a problem, and there is a crisis of leadership everywhere, Senator said in the book review.

Senator Boroffice who noted the Biblical pattern in the scripture narrates what a leader should be, and who is the leader, he only prayed there would be a church revival, as well as community revival, and revival in governance to go back to the scriptures and follow the guidelines given in the Bible, the guidelines given by the lord Jesus Christ with respect to leadership, the one that has to wash the feet of the disciples.

The leadership that has to serve the disciplines, the Compassionate leadership, and the leadership that denies himself because of others.

“It is a responsibility for us all to search our minds on how we can bring about this change, on rectify the leadership crisis we have all over the place, just as he maintains that the problem the country has is a leadership crisis in the political system, and as long as that crisis remains we are going to find it to move forward”, Senator Boroffice added.

Senator Boroffice concluded by urging Nigerians to humble themselves to accept the leadership crisis both in churches and in political institutions, while praying that the Spirit of Almighty God will take control of churches, to be the beacon of lives and hope of leadership of the country, he used the opportunity to welcome all for the book Launch, and hope that they encourage Dr. Tor Uja, of the Mission House International, in missionary, who he said he believes is too old to amass wealth for himself, and he believe that whatever they have come to do here is to build the body of Christ to enlarge the coast of his ministry”, The books reviewer concluded.

Former Nigeria President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Governor of Benue State, Rev. Alia, Governor of Plateau State, His Caleb Muftwang, and Senator George Akume, all represented and Former Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Ortom spoke during the launch of the book “, Elders, The younger people are coming, all talked extensively about raising the Youths, Ortom said that the book summarized both a Spiritual and Intellectual work, which addresses the issue of our time both in the church, communities, workplaces and the world in general. One of the speakers said there have been generational controversies on this issue, according to him, the older people always think they hold the key for the now and the future and would like to control the conversation of who is in charge, the younger people think otherwise, the popular narration that they are leaders of tomorrow, makes them feel they have the right to dictate tomorrow, according to them Dr. Tor Uja has open the conversation by bringing a new definition or narration of three key personalities mentioned in the book : Old men, Elders and the younger people, these are three men personalities that is discussed in the book, each prayer is that God will narrow the gap between the old and the young and raise leaders who would create room for us to make transitions as soonest and silent, and yet as beautiful as the stitch of a well neat garment which join the different part without noise, confusion or confrontation, they prayed God to raise in this generation people of ages and gender people of responsibility that possess silent wisdom, strength of character, ensuring Godly convictions who can and will stand for something “,The Author of the book Dr. Tor Uja was quoted.

Patricia Etteh, former Nigeria’s First Female Speaker, of the Federal House of Representatives, who gave an assignment to leaders at the book Launch that has not to raise a lead said:”, if are a leader and you have never raised someone, please go home today and rethink, make up your that you need mentor people, when I help anybody, and when they come to me, I don’t fail to tell them that, don’t come to me to say thank you, go and pick one person and mentor that person, train the person and advise that person to go ahead to train another person, that is the only way we can multiple ourselves, failure to raise people will continue to create a vacuum “, Patricia Etteh states.

Etteh maintained that as a bold politician she always stands by what she says, according to her what we are witnessing today in our country is very very sad, she charged that you don’t wait until the day you are just coming to come to launch a book on Spiritual leaders or we should decide for us to lead the youngers and when the ovation is loud stage a step aside, who can represent your image “, Patricia Etteh remarked.

Eteh urged them to come together as one family to do what they think is good for their brothers so that they can multiply ourselves, and we can reach out to others”, Patricia Etteh advised.

In an interview with Journalists at the launch of the book, Pastor Adaji Oloche, the Senior Pastor, of City Of Refuge International Church, what he feels about the country and what can be done as it relates to the book of the day, Elders, The younger people are coming”, according to Pastor Adaji, the nation is in a critical season and moment, saying otherwise means he will be lying, including those that are in power know that we are in a season where desperately need the help of God, the truth is, is not as if the leaders are having it easy, probably some people Underrate the challenge that our nation has, but you see when you get to that place you really realize a lot of things have gone in a very wrong direction” Senior pastor stated.

The first thing is the nation needs to call on God in prayers, especially as it relates to the book”, Elders, The Younger People are Coming, we must understand that some people were there before we came up, the people that are in leadership right now, that are in power right now, must understand that they took the baton from some people and they must know that they are going to hand over, according to Pastor Oloche, the matter is not all about the handing over the baton, but what are they going to hand over “, Pastor Adaji added.

Speaking further, he quoted the former Nigeria President, His Excellency Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who was ably represented, saying:” There is no prosperity without posterity, leadership will amount to failure if there is no succession, “Adaji quoted.

The people that are in leadership must understand that it will end with them, and they must prepare the group for the upcoming generations, he states the biblical references that state “, Good fathers leaveth legacies to children’s children, not liability, not challenge, not battles, unfortunately, he said, generations past have left a lot of burdens for succeeding generations”, Pastor Adaji stated.

He prayed that the government of the day would leave a better platform for the upcoming generation, just as he said we must be sincere, call a spade a spade, and face it, Nigeria is in a very desperate state and truly needs the help of God and sincerity will help a good deal in curbing or dealing with the issue we have, when we sincerely address the issues and we face it without hiding and covering anything “, Pastor Adaji remarks.

He stressed further that the state of emergency was declared in Rivers State, he added that he thinks the whole nation needs the state of emergency, the nation is in dire need of help”, He prayed to God to give the leaders the wisdom and the heart to take the bull by the horn, and face it, and we trust that the succeeding generation will have a better ground to run, just as he re-echoed that the Elders should know that the Younger ones are coming, and the nation will not end with this government if Jesus tarries to come, the baton must be passed over and we must prepare for that “, Senior Pastor Adaji concluded.
