The Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has urged Muslim Ummah to intensify efforts in consistent prayer for prevailing peace across Nigeria.
He disclosed this in his 1446 Eid-el-Fitr message to the people of the state in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
The governor described prayer as a sure path to securing the entire nation from its current security challenges.
Gov. Idris also encouraged people to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his determination to fix both the security and economic challenges that engulfed the nation.
He urged the people to support government policies and programs at all levels to ensure even progress and development across the entire country.
The governor assured the people of the state that his administration was for all categories of people while revealing his desire to make Kebbi one of the most beautiful states in Nigeria.
Gov. Idris appreciated the people of the state for their patience, understanding, resilience, and support to the present administration and urged them to sustain the tempo.
He advised Muslims to sustain the lessons of love, kindness, brotherhood, fear of God Almighty,, and devotion as learned during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
“Fasting the month of Ramadan is not only restricted to abstinent from eating, drinking, smoking, and sexual intercourse, but it also entails being modest, humble, and exhibiting good character.
“As Muslims, we need to put into practice the lessons we have learned from this holy month by being kind to one another.
“We should endeavor to tolerate, accommodate, and extend hands of fellowship to the orphans, less privileged, downtrodden, and vulnerable members of the society,” the governor encouraged.
