The Ekiti State University (EKSU) has concluded all arrangements to confer honorary doctorates on three distinguished individuals, including the Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zach Adedeji, and Chairman of the Governing Board of the Bank of Industry, Dr. Mansur Muhtar.
According to a letter from the university’s Registrar, Mr. Ife Oluwole, the honorary doctorates are in recognition of the recipient’s contributions to the development of the institution, Nigeria, and the international community.
Senator Bamidele, who will receive a Doctor of Law (Honoris Causa) degree, has been recognized for his significant contributions to the development of the university, the country, and the international community. He has vowed to continue promoting the rule of law, enacting pro-people legislation, and leading the path to collective peace and prosperity across the federation.
This is not the first time Senator Bamidele has received an honorary doctorate. He was previously honored with a Doctor of Public Law (Honoris Causa) degree by the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, on February 11, 2024, and a Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa) degree by Joseph Ayo Babalola University on January 23, 2023.
The honorary doctorates will be conferred on the recipients during the university’s next convocation ceremony, scheduled to be held on March 29, 2025.
