Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has concluded arrangements to commence its convocation ceremony on Monday, 24th March 2025.
According to the lineup of events released by the Registrar of the university, Mr. Ife Oluwole, and the Chairman of the Ceremonies Committee, Professor Lawrence Ademilua, the convocation ceremony will kick off on Monday, 24th March, at 12 noon with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Babatola Ayodele addressing a Press Conference.
Also on the same day, there would be a convocation play to be performed by the University’s Department of Theatre and Media Arts at 2.00 pm. The title of the play is: MANY COLOURS MAKE THE THUNDER, a play written by Femi Osofisan.
On Tuesday, 25th March, the convocation lecture titled: LEADERSHIP, GOVERNANCE AND THE PERFORMANCE OF PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES IN NIGERIA will be delivered by a former Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Emeritus Professor Adebisi Balogun at 12.00 noon. A football match between Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti (EKSU) team and Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti (BOUESTI) team will be held the same day at 4.00 pm.
Other programs scheduled to be held are: An evening with the Vice Chancellor, a Convocation meeting, and an Alumni Dinner.
On Friday, 28th March, there would be awards of Sub-Degree and First degree as well as presentation of prizes.
The high point of the ceremony is the Conferment of Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees on Saturday, 29th March,, commencing at 11.00 am. Eminent Nigerians would also be conferred with Honorary Degrees.
The Distinguished Honorees are the Senate Leader, Senator (Dr) Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, the Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, and the Chairman, Board of the Bank of Industry (BOI), Dr. Mansur Muhtar.
