Gov Otti rewards Abia tactical Police team for rescuing four kidnapped victims

The Governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex otti, has rewarded the Abia state tactical Police team for rescuing four kidnapped victims and neutralizing six suspected kidnappers in the state.

Gov. Otti, made this undisclosed reward on Saturday night while briefing newsmen at the Government House Umuahia on the efforts his adminstration is making to checkmate crime in the state.

The Governor used the occasion to praise the Abia state police command led by CP. Isa Danladi, Abia state commissioner for police for the good works he and his are doing to secure the state.

He commended the state police command for neutralizing six suspected kidnapers and rescuing four of their victims.

Gov. Otti, warned criminals to leave the state as no part of the state will be surrounded by criminals and also warned landlords and community leaders that providing an operational base for criminals would be made to face the consequences of their actions.

He ordered the demolition of the building used by the kidnappers to warehouse their victims.

Earlier the Commissioner of Police Abia state, Police command,CP. Isa Danladi, used the occasion of the security briefing by the governor, to narrate to newsmen how his men rescued the four kidnapped victims and neutralized six suspected kidnapers during the operation at Osukwa in Osisioma, local government area, Abia state.

The state police commissioner stated that acting on intelligence report the state police tactical team using advanced technology tracked the suspected kidnapers gang to osukwa in Osisioma local government area of Abia state.

“Our men stormed their hideout where the victims were kept, but they came under heavy gunfire from the criminals, in the ensuing exchange six of the suspected kidnapers were neutralized, while others fled with bullet wounds,” Abia Police commissioner said.

He stated that firearms and ammunition were recovered from the gang and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing criminals.

The four rescued victims narrated their experiences which includes not being feed for five days before they were rescued by the police tactical team.
