Ebonyi BERWO Founder collaborates with DUFUTH, flags off Operation, Inaugurate Eye Center of Excellence in Research training, patient care complex in Uburu

Chief Mrs. Mary-maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru has expressed her gratitude as the Federal University of Science found her and her pet project, Better Health for Rural Women Children and Internally Displaced Persons BERWO to flag off the Eye Center Complex in the School Community.
On the 13th day of February 2025, the Eye Center complex was commissioned at the Federal University of Science and Technology Uburu.
“It is a thing of joy and honor to be in the midst of your professors today.
The former Governor has a mission and my husband followed him up. Thank you so much for finding me worthy to flag off this eye center at the Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology Uburu.
BERWO is everywhere to eradicate poverty, hunger, health, and education, and we said no more blindness because this commission today showed that there will be total eradication of blindness in the state.
The Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Science and Technology Uburu, Prof. Jesse Uneke, said: “The entire university community has been expecting the presents of the wife of our dear Governor of the State Her Excellence Chief Mrs. Nwifuru. “We are Extremely glad to have you here because we have a lot of things to partner with us: Better Health for rural women, Children, and internally displaced persons BERWO, which is just the beginning of your coming ma. Many programs are still coming.
The performance of u and ur husband in the state is very touching to human kindness and we are part of the beneficiaries the vice said”.
The University update by the Vice Chancellor of DUFUTS Recalled that on the 7th of July 2021, the university was issued a certificate of recognition and approval by the National University Commission. On the 21st of October 2021, the NUL approved a total of Six faculties with 19 Departments to run 17 programs, including Medicine & Surgery, Dentistry, pharmacy, Nursing Science, Medical laboratory science, physiotherapy, biomedical, Engineering, Radiography, Public Health Sciences, and many other relevant courses.
The professor introduced some of their intorages including the two deputy Vice Chancellor’s in the schools and the staff and the community of the federal university. This is our happiest day hosting you, the wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State, in our university for you to come and commission this ultra-modern Eye Center.
We are very grateful to our husband because he supports the approval of this university. After all, the approval came out when the governor was a speaker of the state. I’m happy because you are here today and the dreams of the university community.
The Vice-Chancellor gave the university updates: We Started with 25 students, but now we have 2,487 students our admission 2,9980 students in our admission rate. We are expected to have the Governor’s wife in our midst.
His Excellency The state Governor Nwifuru has been there for us, standing by us for the university to grow and develop to the best level.
