Gbonyin LCDA Chairman kicks off grading of roads

The Executive Chairman of Gbonyin Local Council Development Area, Hon Benedict Oluwadamilare Ajayi has commenced grading of some deplorable roads in major towns within the LCDA.

The benefitted communities include Ijan, Iluomoba, and Aisegba Ekiti, which are expected to open up the rural roads and facilitate the movement of crops to the markets by farmers in the area.

Hon. Oluwadamilare Ajwhilewhil,e inspecting the ongoing grading of some roads in Ijan Ekiti, said the grading of some of the road whiche he said they are in a deplorable condition, gives people a sign of relief in accessing their houses and farms.

He noted that the deplorable conditions of many roads in the area have hampered socio-economic activities.

“Even though we have been facing the problem of lack of funds, we are going to try our best in this period to see that most of our roads that are in deplorable states are graded at the peak of this dry season so that farmers can transport their crops to the markets,“ he said.

The chairman, who noted that the arrangement had been concluded on how the earth-moving equipment would move from one town to another, called on all political office holders in each community to monitor the grading.

He further said that his administration has assisted some communities in the area to ease the challenge of electricity confronting them while most of the markets in the area also received attention.

While speaking, the Onijan of Ijan Ekiti, Oba Lawrence Aladesuyi commended the council chairman for his stupendous performance since he assumed office.
Oba Aladesuyi described Hon. Ajayi as a patriotic son of Ijan Ekiti who has an uncommon passion for the wellbeing of people in his council area.

Residents of the area also thanked the council boss for grading their roads despite the paucity of funds facing the local council area.
