Niger Tornadoes goes down 3- 0 to Bendel Insurance in Benin

Niger Tornadoes football club went to Benin weekend, endured a tough day on the pitch, succumbing to a humiliating loss against Bendel Insurance by three goals to nill in continuation of the ongoing NPFL second stanza.
However, the visitors played with a man down which was Tornadoes’ second heaviest defeat on the road this season.
The Ikon Allah Boys fell behind early in the 5th minute when Julius Emiloju pounced on Joshua Enaholo’s spilled ball, smashing it home to give Bendel Insurance the lead.
Tornadoes were left reeling and forced to chase the game from the onset despite gaining control of possession midway through the first half,
Majin Mohammed’s side struggled to create clear-cut chances, failing to break down the Bendel Insurance defense.
Just before the half time break Niger Tornadoes were reduced to 10 men after Joshua Enaholo was given the marching orders for halting a goal-bound attack by the hosts, prompting the center referee to swiftly produce a red card.
Trailing 1-0 and reduced to 10 men, Niger Tornadoes faced an uphill battle as they headed into the break.
The game restarted and just the before the Boys could settled down, the hosts doubled their lead through an unmarked Uche Collins who fired into the net after a well worked team play, 10 minutes into the second half.
In search of a spark, Niger Tornadoes made their second substitution, introducing Rickson Mendos into the game while withdrawing Adebambo Adebayo, who struggled to make an impact upfront.
The rout was completed when Kayode Oke beat the offside to score giving his team a comfortable advantage.
The likes of Abdulrahman Hamisu and Olawale Emmanuel were introduced late on the game but it was a little too late.
