The community of Odoraboyejo Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo was thrown into shock following the tragic death of a young woman, Adijat, in the home of her boyfriend, Ramoni Abiodun Segun.
The incident, which occurred on the night of Monday, February 3rd, 2025, took a grim turn when a distress call was made to local authorities at 9:00 a.m. the following morning. The anonymous tip alerted security operatives that Adijat had been found unresponsive in Segun’s room.
Upon arrival, operatives of the Amotekun Corps swiftly apprehended Segun for questioning. In his statement, he claimed that Adijat had been experiencing severe stomach pain throughout the night, which he believed led to her untimely death.
As the news spread, residents of the community expressed deep sorrow and concern over the tragic loss. Meanwhile, the suspect has been handed over to the Ijebu Igbo police division for further investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to step forward to aid the inquiry.
Speaking on the matter, Deputy Corps Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Col. Tajudeen Bakare, assured the public that a thorough investigation would be carried out to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
