National Association of Polytechnic Students gets new exco as faction kicks

The new executives to pilot the affairs of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) have emerged with Comrade Festus Oyewumi as President

from the College of Agriculture Technology, Ibarapa.

They emerged at a convention held at the Fati Lami Abubakar Institute of Legal and Administrative Studies (FLAILAS), Minna, Niger state capital, for the next year.

Others who won as the new executives are Usman Ibrahim Dende of Federal Polytechnic Idah as Senate President, Akeem Aworinde of Federal Polytechnic Offa, as National Director of Sport, Oluwatobi Otititoju Oluwatobi of Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, as National Treasurer, Ishola Usman of Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin as Vice President Special Duties, among others.

The Convention Chairman, Comrade  Ibrahim Mumini stated that it was a free and fair convention conducted peacefully and democratically, adding that this is due to the commitment of NAPS to the unity, progress, and welfare of polytechnic students across Nigeria.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Festus Oyewumi was reassured to work tirelessly to restore its lost glory and ensure peace,  unity, and progress of the association in the country.

Similarly, Comrade Eshiafune Paul Oghayan (aka ShopRite) has been declared to be the authentic winner as the National President of the Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS).

He made the declaration in a press briefing held at the IBB Pen House Minna, saying that after vigorous campaigning to the 36 states, the majority of the senators spoke through the ballot, giving him the mandate to lead them. 

Paul Oghayan promised to deliver well on the mandate given to them and to protect the mandate with honor and dignity, hence developing ideas that will make their learning and living conditions on campus easy and comfortable in line with the international best standards.

Also, Abu Sufiyan Maduko announced his emergence as the elected Convention Chairman with 108 votes out of 213 delegates while Comrade Danjuma Bulus Akolo as NAPS Senate President as declared by the 2025 Convention Planning Committee chairman Sunday Asuku.
