Ekiti State Ministry of Education partners with office of Sports Development for school playground usage
In a move aimed at enhancing sports development and promoting community engagement, the Ekiti State Ministry of Education has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Office of Sports Development for the use of selected public school playgrounds.

This collaboration, championed by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, aims to create a sustainable sporting culture and encourage local communities to develop dedicated sportsmen and women
The Ministry, led by Commissioner Dr. (Mrs) Olabimpe Aderiye, seeks to promote academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and a culture of teamwork, discipline, and resilience. She urged the Office of Sports Development to ensure that the facilities released to them are properly utilized, noting that vandalism of the school properties is highly prohibited.
In her response, the Technical Advisor to the Governor on Sports Development, Dr Olusola, expressed appreciation for the privilege to access the playing ground for sporting activities, assuring that the facilities will be maintained. She said the partnership is expected to foster a stronger sporting culture in Ekiti, engaging students and communities while developing.
Principals are to verify this authorization before granting access. No individual or group should be allowed to use the fields without presenting a letter from the Office of Sports Development.
