Ogun APC denounces CUPP as Illegal, propaganda-driven body
Lauretta Fagbohun, Abeokuta.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has dismissed the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) as an illegal and irrelevant group driven by propaganda and personal gain.
In a statement signed by Tunde Oladunjoye, the Public Secretary of APC in Ogun State, the party described CUPP as a union of deregistered political parties removed from the political space by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) due to redundancy, unpopularity, and lack of activity. According to the APC, the electoral body considered these parties a hindrance to a functional political system, leading to their exit.
The APC criticized CUPP’s recent accusations against Governor Dapo Abiodun and senior government officials, labeling the group’s actions as baseless and malicious. The party argued that the individuals behind CUPP lack credibility and are motivated by pecuniary interests.
Oladunjoye emphasized that Governor Abiodun remains unshaken by attempts at blackmail, asserting that the administration is focused on driving development and leaving behind lasting legacies through transformative projects across Ogun State.
The APC called on CUPP to cease its “nude dance in the market square” and focus on meaningful endeavors rather than engaging in activities deemed counterproductive to the state’s progress.
The statement serves as a clear warning to CUPP to discontinue its alleged illegal activities and refrain from propaganda-driven campaigns against the government.
