The former gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, has expressed his readiness to spearhead the reconstruction of the Isale Oja Bridge located at Kuto Market in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state.
In a letter personally signed by Adebutu on Tuesday and addressed to the Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Balogun Olaniyi Afeez, he sought approval to embark on the project. He highlighted the strategic importance of the Kuto Market, describing it as one of the foremost markets in Egbaland.
Adebutu emphasized the critical need for motorable and accessible roads to enhance the livelihoods of the market’s users. He reiterated his commitment to fostering an environment conducive to economic growth and improving infrastructure across the community.
According to Adebutu, the proposed reconstruction would ensure convenience, safety, and economic benefits for both the market and the surrounding community.
He further noted that this initiative is part of his broader dedication to promoting infrastructural development in the Kuto area, with a focus on boosting trade and supporting local businesses.
“As the Lisa Aje of Egbaland, one of my commitments is ensuring a conducive market environment and accessible roads that facilitate economic activities and improve the welfare of our people in Egbaland,” the letter read.
Highlighting the poor state of the Isale Oja Bridge, Adebutu added, “Kuto Market, being one of the foremost markets in Egbaland, deserves motorable and accessible roads that will enhance trade, ease transportation, and support the livelihoods of our people.”
He concluded by requesting approval to oversee and facilitate the reconstruction of the long-abandoned bridge, assuring that the initiative would bring significant convenience, safety, and economic progress to the market and its users.
