Security agencies in Kebbi State have presented a souvenir to Governor Nasir Idris, recognizing his exceptional moral and material support for security operations, which have been instrumental in overcoming insurgency, insecurity, and criminal activities in the state.

The presentation was made by the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Sani Bello, during a security meeting chaired by the Governor at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

The meeting was attended by heads of security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Airforce, Police, Civil Defence, DSS, Customs, Immigration, Correctional Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, and the Vigilante Group.

Commissioner Bello praised the Governor’s unwavering support, which has significantly contributed to restoring peace and stability across the state, particularly in security-challenged areas like Kebbi South.

“Your Excellency, you have consistently supported us in our efforts to eliminate insecurity, banditry, and crime. Through your leadership, security agencies now work in synergy, sharing intelligence and collaborating effectively. With God’s guidance, Kebbi is now secure and peaceful,” the Commissioner said.

He emphasized that the united efforts of the security agencies, combined with the Governor’s support, have led to remarkable successes. “This souvenir is a token of our appreciation and recognition of your outstanding contributions to ensuring a peaceful Kebbi State,” he concluded.

In his response, Governor Nasir Idris expressed gratitude for the recognition and reiterated his commitment to supporting security agencies.

“This is not just my duty; it is our shared responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of Kebbi citizens. The recognition you have given me today is unprecedented, and I am truly honored,” the Governor said.

He commended the security agencies for their dedication and successes in addressing security challenges, particularly in areas like Zuru and Yauri, which have now enjoyed peace and facilitated agricultural prosperity.

“I inherited significant security challenges, but your collective efforts have brought remarkable improvements. Without peace, no meaningful development can occur. I assure you that the government will continue to provide the necessary support as we work together for a prosperous 2025,” Governor Idris concluded.
