Ogun Amotekun to train recruits for enhanced operational efficiency

The Ogun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, is gearing up to commence the training of its newly recruited personnel. This initiative, a crucial step in strengthening the Corps’ operational capabilities, is part of its ongoing mission to maintain law and order across the state effectively.

In line with Amotekun’s high standards, the training program aims to equip recruits with the essential skills and knowledge required for efficient service delivery. This rigorous preparation will ensure they are well-prepared to tackle the challenges of their new roles and contribute meaningfully to the Corps’ objectives.

The training exercise is scheduled to run from Sunday, January 5th, to Saturday, January 18th, 2025, at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Sagamu. Shortlisted candidates are expected to report to the camp by 8:00 a.m. each day, and punctuality is emphasized to maintain the program’s structure and discipline. Lateness to the camp will result in disciplinary measures.

Candidates have been advised to come prepared and bring the following essential items for the program:

1. Bucket

2. Broom

3. Cutlass

4. Two pairs of white round-neck T-shirts

5. Two pairs of white shorts/knickers

6. Two pairs of white tennis sneakers

7. Two pairs of white socks

8. Two white bedsheets

9. Writing materials

10. Two files containing original and photocopies of credentials

11. Bank Verification Number (BVN)

12. National Identification Number (NIN)

The Corps authority has urged the recruits to strictly adhere to the provided instructions and cooperate fully with officials to ensure the program’s success. The Corps also commended the successful candidates for their courage, commitment, and willingness to serve their communities under the Amotekun banner.

In his New Year 2025 message, Brigadier General (rtd) AI Adedigba, Corps Commander of Amotekun, expressed heartfelt wishes for joy, prosperity, and stability for all citizens of Ogun State. He described the new year as an opportunity for reflection and renewed determination to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities.

Highlighting the Corps’ dedication to community safety, the Commander called on residents, community leaders, organizations, and volunteers to collaborate with Amotekun in combating crime, promoting peace, and preserving the state’s cultural heritage.

“The strength of Ogun State lies in our unity, resilience, and shared commitment to a safer, brighter future,” he stated. “We are dedicated to being accessible and responsive to the needs of our communities. Let your voices be heard, and together, we will create a haven of peace and prosperity.”

The Commander reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to transparency and open communication, urging citizens to report suspicious activities promptly. His message concluded with a call to action for mutual support and kindness, ensuring that Ogun State remains a proud Gateway State.

Wishing all residents a fulfilling and prosperous year ahead, Brigadier General Adedigba underscored the Corps’ mission to protect and serve, standing resolutely as a pillar of safety and hope in the state.
