Kwara Chief Of Staff, Prince Mahe Abdulkadir, dies at 73

Prince Mahe Abdulkadir, Chief of Staff to Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq, has passed away at the age of 73 after a brief illness.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, who confirmed that Prince Mahe died early Saturday morning, December 28, 2024.

Describing the loss as a significant tragedy, the statement read: “With total submission to Allah’s will, we regretfully announce the death of Prince AbdulKadir Mahe.

“He passed away this morning, December 28, 2024, as ordained by Allah.”

Prince Mahe will be laid to rest today at his Moro Street residence in Adewole Estate, Ilorin, following the Asr prayer.

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the late Chief of Staff as a distinguished gentleman, a community leader, and a dedicated public servant.

The Governor extended his condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Prince Mahe’s family, government officials, and cabinet members.

“We pray for Allah to grant him al-Jannah Firdaus, forgive his shortcomings, and uphold his family in strength and goodness,” the statement added.

Prince Mahe, the eldest son of the 10th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Aliyu Abdulkadir, was appointed Chief of Staff 17 months ago, succeeding Alhaji Adisa Logun, who also passed away in office during the Governor’s first term.
