Apostle Dr. John Okoriko, the Founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church in Akwa Ibom State, has officially launched a four-day gospel convention in Uyo, urging Nigerians to open their hearts to God’s divine intervention.
Addressing Nigerians during the convention, which began yesterday at the West Itam Secondary School ground in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state Capital, with the theme “An Open Door, No Man Can Shut.” Okoriko urged believers to open their hearts to God, emphasizing that His intervention can only manifest when people are receptive.
He praised the youth of the church for their commitment to organizing the end-of-year convention and expressed his gratitude for their efforts in making the event a reality.
During his speech, Okoriko boldly declared his belief that Satan, witches, and demonic forces do not exist, making it clear that the convention would focus on spiritual truths that empower individuals to walk in faith. The Apostle explained that the purpose of the convention is to help believers understand that they have spiritual doors within themselves, through which God’s blessings and protection flow.
“Every person has a door in their soul,” Okoriko said. “The Lord Himself is a door, and He is the key to opening the doors that lead to blessings and protection in our lives. During these four days, we will focus on understanding how to open these doors to God’s intervention.”
The Apostle outlined the key messages that will be explored throughout the convention. Topics include the idea that everyone was created with a door in their soul, the doors of Heaven and the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the importance of intercessory prayer for Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, and the world.
“There is a door in every person, and God created it for your protection,” Okoriko emphasized. “Nothing can enter you without first knocking, just like doors in a physical building. You have the power to shut the door to evil forces and allow only God’s presence to enter.”
Okoriko also stressed the importance of aligning with God’s grace while taking proactive steps to unlock the blessings He has for each person. “Though God’s grace opens doors, it is important to make an effort to activate those doors in your life,” he said. “You can shut the door to poverty, frustration, and negative influences, but only by knowing the truth and walking in it.”
The Apostle, who has built a strong following on social media, assured attendees that the convention would lead to an unprecedented spiritual turnaround in their lives. Drawing from his own experiences, Okoriko shared how he has faced numerous challenges, including conspiracies, murder attempts, and kidnappings, but was always protected by the spiritual doors he has learned to shut against evil forces.
“I have been preaching since I was 25, and throughout my ministry, I’ve faced numerous dangers,” Okoriko shared. “But I always had a door in my life that I could shut against these forces. When you understand the power of the doors God has placed in you, nothing can harm you.”
The Apostle closed his remarks by urging participants to make decisions that will allow God to fulfill His promises in their lives. “When God opens a door, no man can shut it,” he said. “And when He fulfills His promises, even those who oppose it cannot stand in the way.”
As the convention continues, Okoriko promises to take participants on a spiritual journey, equipping them with the knowledge and faith to unlock the doors of blessings, protection, and spiritual success in their lives. The event is expected to end with powerful prayers and messages designed to inspire a renewed sense of purpose and faith among all attendees.
