Fire razes shops in Dugbe Market, Ibadan

A fire outbreak early Sunday morning destroyed goods worth millions of naira at Dugbe Market in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

The inferno, which affected no fewer than three shops, occurred in the early hours and left traders counting their losses.

The General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Agency, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident in a statement issued to journalists.

Akinyinka stated that the agency responded promptly after receiving the distress call, deploying firefighters to the scene to contain the blaze. He further revealed that three out of the thirteen shops in the affected area were completely razed by the fire.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, while efforts are being made to prevent future occurrences.
