President Tinubu, prominent figures attend Barau’s children’s wedding ceremony in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu leads the host of distinguished personalities, including, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt Hon Tajuddeen Abbas, governors, senators, and All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who attended the wedding Fatiha of the children of Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin in Abuja on Friday.

The event also saw the presence of Mamman Daura, nephew of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The ceremony joined Jibrin Barau Jibrin (Abba), son of Senator Barau, with Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi, as well as Aisha Barau Jibrin with Engineer Abubakar Abdulmunaf Sarina, son of Dr Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of the Azman Group.

The nuptials took place at the National Mosque in Abuja following the two raka’at Juma’at prayers and were officiated by Prof. Ibrahim Maqari, the mosque’s Imam.

President Tinubu, through the Speaker of the House of Representatives, served as the Wakil and Waliy for Senator Barau’s children, while Dr Abdullahi Ganduje acted as the Waliy for the Emir of Bichi’s daughter.

Senator Tanko Almakura, former Governor of Nasarawa State, stood as the Wakil for Abubakar Sarina.

The event drew a diverse array of high-profile attendees, including top political leaders from across major parties, business tycoons, and traditional and religious figures.

Among the governors present were Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Numerous senators, such as former Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Ali Ndume, Sani Musa, and others, attended, alongside federal officials like Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF); Chief of Staff Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu; and presidential aides Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari and Abdulaziz Abdulaziz.

The gathering highlighted the significance of the occasion, blending political, business, and cultural ties in a grand celebration.
