Kano Public Complaints Commission canvasses for the review of outdated laws, showcases achievements.

The Kano state public complaints commission have reiterated it’s zeal and determination towards the promotion of peace and unity amongst the citizens through respective conflict resolutions with best results.

This was announced by the state’s federal commissioner, Honourable Ahmad Ado Dadinkowa during a press briefing held at his office Friday, adding that the commission was established to work for the receipts and resolution of misunderstandings between the public or private issues.

He added that ” Public Complaints Commission was established in 1975 through decree Number 32 of 1975 and later become Cap. P37 laws of the federation in 2004 as amended and commenced operation in January, 1976 with late Alhaji Dr. Yusuf Maitama Sule (Dan masanin Kano) as the commission’spioneer Chief commissioner”. He stressed.

Honourable Ahmad Ado Dadinkowa further disclosed that the commission educates the public on it’s duties and types of services tht can be rendered as well as informing the general public about the locations of it’s zonal offices for easy  complaints lodgements or enquiries.

Similarly, Dadinkowa stressed that during the year under review,   Public Compalints Commission have received many complains from different locations that were treated with all sorts of fairness including the one lodged by the Kantin Kwaritraders known as Yan tebura against KNUPDA an the proactive investigations on unregistered cooperative societies with amicable resolutions.

He announced that the commission have also promoted many staff, fenced Bichi Zonal office, organises town hall meeting, keeping good record, giving incentives to non-accident drivers and making in house trainings for best service result where he commended the staff of the commission for their commitments to the service of humanity.

Commenting on the relationship with other organisations, Dadinkowa said that ” we have good working synegy with the EFCC, ICPC,PCAC, NHRC, Police Force, Army, Navy, Air Force, DSS, Hisbah, NSCDC, Press and all other similar agencies which has been one of the effects that influences our success”. He lamented.

In conclusion, Honourable Ahmad Ado Dadinkowa said that with what is being expected this year(2023), the commission would get more consideration to have adequate funds for day-to-day activities, reviewing of outdated laws and additional  logistics to cover everywhere across Kano and opening more offices that can reach the general public that settled in remotes areas
