Nigerians in all states have accepted Peter Obi, LP – Ozigbo

…..as party denies pact with PDP, AtikuBusiness mogul Valentine Ozigbo has said Peter Obi and Labour Party (LP) have gained acceptance in all states in Nigeria.Ozigbo made the comment in a statement on Sunday on the 31st anniversary of the creation of Anambra. He encouraged people of the state to play their part in the new wave of political awakening sweeping through the country. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in 2021 expressed hope that the 2023 election would spark a revolution in Anambra’s political landscape.Noting that the state has made “unsteady progress”, Ozigbo urged citizens to prioritise the character and competence of leaders and the processes through which they emerge. He believes Anambra is not suffering because of a shortage of qualified individuals in politics but because leading parties and the processes corrupt or discourage those who can achieve positive change.‘While we will always ask for better leadership, Ndi Anambra can beat their chests and say they have been dealt a better hand compared to other states.“We have had several leaders who have left their marks and played their part in shaping the state.“Fortunately, one of the most impactful leaders in our history (Obi) is vying to become Nigeria’s president and replicate the unique leadership that has won him global acclaim.”He added that 2023 signifies a point Nigerians must get it right at all levels.Ozigbo and his Ka Anambra Chawapu political movement were formally received into the LP last Tuesday by Obi and the party’s national leadership. In the meantime, Peter Obi’s media officer has dismissed an alleged deal between the presidential candidate and Atiku Abubakar. There are speculations that Obi reached an agreement with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer ahead of the 2023 election. In reply, his camp chastised “uncharitable propagandists” for distorting facts in order to portray their paymasters as relevant. The camp accused mischief makers of giving misleading accounts of the issue-based messages of the Labour Party (LP) candidate just to score cheap political points.A statement made available to our Correspondent condemned “spin-doctors” for promoting an “utterly false story that Peter Obi met with his PDP counterpart and reached a deal”.It noted that Obi’s foreign trip and itinerary were already in the public domain while his meeting in the UK with some Nigerian political leaders was not a secret. The media office said propagandists prefer to concoct lies in a desperate effort to clean up their candidate because the Obi-Datti candidacy is the one to beatIt added that the duo’s messages are resonating with the embattled Nigerian public who are anxious more than ever to reclaim their nation.“The LP candidates are on a divine mission to rescue and rebuild this country and cannot be distracted by any fabrications intended to mislead.“If Obi’s mission is to rescue Nigeria from the old order, he ought not be seen working for the changing order.”The statement wonders why people who called ex-Anambra governor a social media phantom wave without political structure to win the 2023 election are struggling to “photoshop” him with their candidate. It said Obi respects Atiku or other leaders because of his sound upbringing as well as style of politics devoid of hate and bitterness which should not be misconstrued.“Obi-Datti media office is privy to intelligence that many distorted stories will be dished to the public to create confusion in the minds of the public.“Such a mission is dead on arrival because the people’s commitment to the Obidient assignment is total,” the rebuttal added.
