FRSC Zonal Commander seeks support of Emir of Ilorin for road safety.

The Zonal Commanding officer (ZCO), Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) RS8HQ, in Kwara, Assistant Corps Marshal Hyginus Omeje has sought the support of the Emir of Ilorin, HRH, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari (CFR) on road safety in the state.
Omeje who paid a courtesy visit to the Emir in Ilorin said that the visit was necessary in order to achieve the corps mandate of reducing Road Traffic Crash (RTC) and creating a safe motoring environment in the state.
The ZCO also sought for enhanced relationship between the command and the emir in order to enhance citizen’s obedience to traffic law and improved safety awareness.
He assured the emir of continued public enlightenment programmes to sensitize the public on road safety matters saying it is everyone’s business.
“I am here today on a courtesy visit, to you as a respected traditional head in Kwara.
“I was posted to the state last year as the ZCO of the FRSC, RS8HQ which supervises Kwara, Ekiti and Kogi states.
“I solicit your royal support and enhanced relationship between the corps and the people of Kwara in order to reduce crashes on our highways and bring road safety consciousness to the public.
“The corps is committed to ensuring that we have safer roads in the state and across the country”, Omeje said.
In his response, the emir assured the corps of his support, to ensure proper road attitude and safety in the state.
He reiterated his readiness to cooperate with the command towards achieving it’s mandate while urging the corps to intensify it’s efforts on public awareness and enlightenment.
The emir promised to work harmoniously with the command to ensure success is achieved in the area of road safety in the state
