2 Kidnappers Arrested In Ogun While Picking Ransom

Abolade Sokunbi The Police Command in Ogun State has apprehended two suspected Kidnappers, while trying to collect ransom money at Agbara Area of Ogun State. The two men , Muhammed Abubakar, 42, and Clinton Niche, 18 ,were rounded up by men of Nigeria Police Ogun State Command while trying to pick up ransom money that they demanded for the kidnap of seven-year old Daniel Ajibili. The Police Spokesman in Ogun State , DSP Oyeyemi, made this known on Monday in a release to newsmen in Ota, Ogun State. The release confirmed that the incident happened on Sunday, October 3rd.The statement further stated that the two men were arrested following a report lodged at the Agbara area command of the state by Stephen Ajibili, the father of the kidnapped boy, who reported that his seven-year old son had been kidnapped.
In his statement Ajibili said , the abductors called him and demanded the sum of one million naira if he wanted to see his son again. Upon the reports, the Acting Area Commander , Agbara, CSP Kayode Shedrack, quickly mobilised his men to go on technical and intelligence based investigation to unravel those behind the delvish act.” The efforts of the detectives paid off when the suspects who had directed the victims parents to drop the ransom money somewhere , were ambushed and arrested by the detectives” the statement stated He further said that the suspects later led the police team to a bush, where the innocent young boy was tied to a tree.”On interrogation, the suspects told the police that they were three in number, that the remaining member of their gang was the one watching over their victims while they came out to collect the ransom.'”The third suspect however took to his heels when he discovered that his colleagues have been arrested, he stated
Meanwhile, the Acting Commissioner of Police , DCP Abiodun Alamutu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the anti- kidnapping section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation. He also directed his men to ensure that the fleeing member of the gang is arrested and brought to justice within the shortest time
