Court sends 3 bandits drugs suppliers, doctor to 3 years jail in Niger

Three persons have bagged three years jail term after finding them guilty of aiding abetting kidnappers while also serving as their doctor, by a Minna Senior Magistrate Court.
The presiding Senior Magistrate, Hajiya Fati Kabir also ordered that the imprisonment is with hard labour without an option of fine.
The convicts Abubakar Abdullahi, Abubakar Musa and KabirMohammed
were found guilty of two count charges of conspiracy, aiding and assisting the escape of offender which contravened sections 3 (1) and 4 (1) of the Niger state law on kidnapping and cattle rustling 2016.
According to the police Prosecutor Thomas Irimiya Peter ASP, ” on the 14 April, 2022, following a tip-off that some men in Zugurma area via Ibbi in Mashegu Local government area of Niger state are supplying armed bandits terrorising Masheguarea with illicit drug serve as doctor and transporter.
Operatives of the State investigation and intelligent Bureau (SIIB), attached to Ibbi Police divisional command swung into action and effected the arrest of Abubakar Musa KabirMohammed”.
He said that during police investigation Abubakar Musa confessed to have
supplied the armed bandits with illicit drugs at the same time introduce Kabir Mohammed to the bandits before serving as medical doctor..
He said that Abubakar Abdullahi has been the driver to the bandits,and that the bandits bought him a new IVS motorcycle worth N350,000 “.
During the trial four witnesses testified against the convicts before the court.
The presiding Senior Magistrate Hajiya Fati Kabir after reviewing the testimonies of the witnesses said the Prosecutor had proved his case beyond reasonable doubt
She said the court is convinced with all the testimonies of the prosecuting witnesses
” You are hereby convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment each without an option of find in addition with hard labour”, she ruled
