Two kidnapper arrested, victims rescued in Ogun

The Ogun State-owned Security Outfit, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) on Wednesday rescued some victims of kidnap within the state capital and managed to apprehend two of the six suspected kidnappers.

The incident which was leashed by the kidnappers around Solurounder area of Abeokuta, was said to have involved one Mr. Seyi Olorunsogo who was kidnapped in front of his house.

Mr Olorunsogo was kidnapped alongside with his wife but pleaded for the release of his wife which the kidnappers accepted.

But, the Ogun State Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-safe) was able to apprehend two among the evil perpetrators and rescued the victims involved. 

Through the office of the director of information and public relation matters of the agency, the state commander, SojiGanzallo said that the kidnappers advanced to Onigbedu, Ewekoro in Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

The kidnappers, however, made another attempt by kidnapping another Mr. Francis Oke at Onigbedu while he was on his bush hunting but, Mr. Oke was able to manipulate the route for his escape from the kidnappers. 

Ganzallo in a press release explained further that it was the bush hunter that reported the incident to the agency for sake of apprehension.

He as well made it known that some hunters joined the operation and the bush was aggressively combed. 

Nonetheless, the officer leading the team was shot in the process by the kidnappers but currently responding to treatment.

Ganzallo stressed that the two apprehended kidnappers namely Umoru and Alliu are indigenes of Kwara and Kebbi State respectively, while the others escaped arrest from the agency.

Lastly, the so-safe corps was able to retrieve 1 riffle along with victims of kidnap, and the agency has transferred the case to the Nigeria Police, Ewekoro Divisional Police Headquarters for further and proper investigation.
