Police launch manhunt for kidnapers of inspector, others in Ogun

Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered a manhunt for suspected kidnapers camouflage in army uniform to adduct an inspector of the police and two others in Waasinmi.
Bankole gave the directive shortly after the three abductees were release yesterday
This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen by the Police Public Relation Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in Abeokuta on Friday
Oyeyemi explained that the abducted persons including the police inspector were kidnapped on Wednesday, September 21 at Waasinmi in along Abeokuta-Lagos road in Ewekoro Local Government Area
He said on receiving the information, CP Bankole ordered the anti kidnapping unit and other tactical squad to move into the area and join forces with Ewekoro divisional headquarters to rescue the victims.
The police PRO said that their efforts paid off when the abductors upon sensing the aggressive trailing of them by the police were left with no option than to release them
“The victims regained their freedom at about 9:45 pm of Thursday 22nd of September 2022 and have since reunited with their family” he added
Following the release, the CP, however, directed that no stone should be left unturned until the kidnappers were all arrested and brought to book.
