Nasarawa Govt. orders reopening of closed Schools.

The Nasarawa State government has ordered for the reopening of all public and private Primary and Secondary Schools recently shut down as a result of security threat.

The State Commissioner of education, Mrs Fati Jimeta gave the directive through a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mohammed Sani Bala and made available to Newsmen in Lafia, the State Capital.
In the Statement, the Commissioner stated that the resumption date for the first term in 2022 and 2023 academic session for both Public and Private Schools is September 18 and 19.

According to her, all boarding Schools in the State are expected to open this coming Sunday while all day Students are to resume School next Monday.

The Commissioner who appealed to parents and guardians to send their Children to Schools as full academic activities would start immediately, directed all Chief evaluation Officers to monitor and ensure full compliance to the directive.
She said government has taken steps to reopen the Schools because adequate security measures have been put in place to secure the Schools as well as the Students.

It would be recalled that the State government in July, 2021 ordered the closure of all Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools in the area as preventive measure to security threat in some parts of the State.
